Junior Ninjutsu Program
Newsletter
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to our 1st Newsletter.
Current News.
First of all, I would like to thank all three Principals at the Middle schools, the Director of Middle School Education Dr. Wingfield and last but not least the staff at the Chesterfield County facilities Department for their support in helping get this Program up and running.
Classes started one week after the Fall semester began, and I am sure that I was not the only one excited and nervous about this new program. There were a lot of questions from the students in the first few classes, all of which were hopefully answered. As classes continued we all seemed to fall into a nice routine. With students soon receiving their new uniforms a new routine will take place, making our training sessions more in tune with our Japanese lineage.
It is so nice to see parents’ staying for the classes as their involvement is important in the students training.
I am so impressed with the speed at which all the students are learning at, and I have to say it is a lot quicker than most adults I have taught.
Current Events.
Starting on the first class in October all Students will be given the opportunity to participate in our 1st Event.
The more students we have in class the more fun the class is, so we have a fun competition to help achieve this.
Bring a friend competition.
All students if they wish will be given 5 sign up cards with their names on it.
Students can hand out these cards to friends that they think would enjoy our classes.
The card allows the prospective new student to join in one of our classes to see if they enjoy it.
Of course more cards can be handed out if needed at the end of each class.
On the last class in December after all the students have tested for their next rank, those students who have the most friends enrolled in our classes will receive a prize.
The competition is held at each Middle School, and each school will have their own winners.
1st Place $75.00 Gift Card
2nd Place $50.00 Gift Card
3rd Place $25.00 Gift Card
The Gift cards will be for Barnes & Nobles.
In the event of a tie, the winner will be the student whose friend enrolled 1st.
Parents yes you can help your student.
Don’t forget I will be taking measurements for student uniforms this Wed and Thurs and Mon and Tues next week. Uniforms will be ordered on Wed and will arrive by the following Mon. The cost for the uniform is $25.00, so please include this one time additional fee to your checks.
Once the student has their uniform they should wear it to each class. Shoes should not be worn with the uniform, socks are highly encouraged.
Future Events.
I have many ideas and hopes for the future of our Program and welcome any input from parents and students alike.
Currently we have several events coming up that I hope will involve as many students and parents as possible.
First of all I would like to do something fun and exciting the Sunday evening before Halloween, the Chesterfield Berry Farm is currently not doing anything special other than the Fall Festival, and I am hoping to find an event such as a Haunted House or Wood. The only Haunted Wood event I know of is a ways up Staples Mill Rd which would be quite a drive for everyone. If anyone knows of a Haunted event closer please do let me know.
Second we are currently working with Ukrops and Kroger on the Midlothian Turnpike to host a fundraising event, the event will take place on a Saturday the exact dates will be announced and it is expected that they will take place on a Saturday mid way through the month. I will be staffing the table and answering questions, I hope that some of the students and parents will be available to help out, more information and a sign up sheet will be made available as soon as the dates and details have been confirmed.
Thirdly and several months away we are working on three other events.
A summer trip to Kings Dominion, A Car wash event, and lastly we are looking at hosting or co hosting a golf tournament.
Why the Events?
Our goal is to involve all our students in events that help raise money for our non profit allowing us to keep our dues at a respectable level. In order to help teach our students responsibility and a sense of community involvement we host these events, and to help motivate our students we offer fun events or prizes such as our Halloween events and Kings Dominion trip. All of our events are volunteer based and no student or parent is required to participate.
I hope you have enjoyed out 1st newsletter!!!!!!!!!
